PP (POLYPROPLENE) is a tough, lightweight material with high impact resistance and good mechanical strength. It has low water absorption and is resistant to many acids, alkalis and organic solvents. It also has good thermal and electrical insulation properties but becomes brittle at low temperatures. Polypropylene is FDA approved and is easy to machine, form and weld, but difficult to bond.
- Temperature: -20°C to +80°C
- Key Features: Very low water absorption and low density. Resistant to dilute acids, cleaning agents and numerous solvents.
- Applications: Chemical apparatus, water treatment components, seals, insulators, ventilation ducts, pallets, drip pans, crash doors and wall cladding. Polypropylene also offers good thermal and electrical insulation and is also resistant to many acid, alkalis and organic solvents making it an ideal choice for fabrication jobs in chemical and effluent treatment plants.
